I Love This Game

Depending on how you look at it Twitter is one big game. Every game has rules. If one hopes to win they must first learn to play by those rules. In order to understand the rules one must first learn the terms of the game they are playing. These are some of the terms and the definitions that go with them when it comes to THE GAME.

Air Ball - Any failed attempt to attain the attention, acknowledgement or admiration of the opposite (or sometimes even the same) sex. When you send a tweet out or respond to a tweet with a specific intention behind it and  receive no response you have just put up an Air Ball.

Alley Oop - An offensive play in which a player hand delivers "the ball" (usually a woman) to his/her "teammate" for the score with little to no effort necessary on their part. I won't expose the different techniques in which this is achieved but just know niggas throw alley oops on twitter everyday B.

And One - The phenomenon that occurs when more than one person thinks a tweet is about them. Usually when a man subtweets a woman and the side chick or a random shone believes it's for her.

Assist - A pass to a teammate who scores shortly after with a little work on their part. Where an alley oop is them basically preparing a meal for you an assist would be closer to them giving you a ride to McDonald's. You have the ball now do something with it.

Ball Hog - A player that refuses to pass. In the real world no man is obligated to get another man women but Twitter is a team sport. You can't fuck em all so show love when you can.

Benchwarmer -  A player that sits on the bench for most of if not the entire game. These are the one's that WOULD if they COULD. They may flirt with women on twitter daily but make no progress and mostly just sit and observe the real players play.

Block - To tip or deflect a shooter's shot altering it so it misses the goal. Basically hating or cock blocking another players attempt to score.

Bounce Pass - Passing a follower you've slept with to another one of your followers.

Brick - Similar to an air ball, a brick is when you receive a negative response to your attempt for attention, acknowledgement, or admiration.

Brick Layer - A player whose attempts to score constantly get curved and turned down.

Dribble - The courting process that takes place on twitter. The initial flirting during the "get to know each other" stage.

Double Dribble - The process of courting two friends at the same time on twitter. Usually just light flirting early on in the beginning testing the waters to see which one you should choose. If pulled off unsuspectingly the reward can be great but if caught the violation will cause you a loss of possession.

Dunk -  To score by putting the ball directly through the basket. Basically getting a follower to agree to whatever sexual situation you request with providing complete honesty. Most men's idea form of scoring.

Euro Leauge - White Twitter.

Fade Away - Pretty self explanatory. Ladies when you met that guy and let him hit then the texts and tweets slowed up after, u basically got hit wit the fade away.

Fast Break - An attempt to score as fast as possible. The typical Follow/DM/Text/Meet/Beat scenario. (See Fast Food reference in "Crock Pot Pimpin'")

Free Throw - An unopposed attempt to score a basket. Usually achieved by either a player backing off and letting their teammate get a shot with no competition, or a player going after a hoe nobody wants. Basically an easy basket .

In-n-Out - A shot that appears to be going in but goes back out. Basically when you put in the ground work with a follower but fail to follow through for whatever reason. There's usually an unspoken agreement that she owes you some pussy.

Jump Shot - Where the dunk is you getting them to sleep with you by being direct and up front the jump shot is the safer yet less honest approach. A man might run game or tell a few lies to align their twitter life with their "real" life in an attempt to score. It appears to be the easy way out because you deal with less defense up front but in the long run the score is less gratifying.

Layup - A close range shot completed with finesse. Where a dunk is direct and may be rejected if forced too hard the layup is a softer smoother approach. Still direct and honest its considered the more gentleman approach to scoring. Besides, everybody can't dunk.

Paint - The land of the DM's. Some go hard in the paint, others shy away and dare to enter it. This is where you will find most of the action.

Pivot - To sleep with the women in your immediate area without leaving the city or state.

Possession - When you have one of your followers "attention." What you do with it is up to you.

Post Up - When a player puts himself in position to receive an assist or alley oop. Sometimes just posting up on the timeline can get you a score.

Prayer - A shot that is thrown up with little chance of going in. Basically the thirst tweets you see from both men AND women.

Rebound - The response to a random tweet that sparks conversation. If they respond you now own possession however in this game a rebound can turn into an Air Ball or a Brick.

Three Pointer - Where the dunk is direct honesty the Three pointer is the exact opposite. It is the ultimate deception to score. Some people create entire personas on twitter and attempt to live them out in person which is so desperate that if they do end up scoring they deserve an extra point. There is usually no shame in their game and it requires a high level of skill but in the end nobody really wanted to be Larry Bird, Reggie Miller or Steve Kerr.

Travel - Pretty self explanatory, to go out of state to meet someone off of twitter. Sex should never be a man's sole purpose to visit another state unless the arrangements are provided for by the woman. Either have the woman come to you or check her when you're in town for business. Can't be traveling all over the court trying to score.

Now I don't expect to see all of these being used on my timeline but if and when you do use them remember where you got the official definitions from. I can't promise that you will win if you play by the rules but I can promise that the game is and will always be the game. It might not be perfect but it's fair. Be safe and remember when it comes to Twitter they only know what you tell them. Feel free to follow me @Haztv
